Funded by Creative Scotland, MacGillivray learned from Gaelic singer Christine Primrose on the Isle of Skye and used this knowledge and influence to shape and inform Clach-gheurachaidh with sequences by contemporary Japanese cellist Atzi MuramatsuThe lyrics for track 2 are from a poem by MacGillivray, translated by Aonghas MacNeacail and published in The Last Wolf of Scotland (Pighog, Brighton 2013/ Red Hen, Los Angeles, 2017). Clach-gheurachaidh means The Sharpening Stone.
